What is your Hope in?

Woman in praise

During my devotion time this morning the question kept coming up, what is your hope in?

These days it seems like so many are placing their hope in elected officials, other people or things. That kind of hope is false and uncertain. Things change, emotions flow and next thing you know you are left feeling hopeless and possibly wanting to just give up.

“Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the Lord.” Psalms 31:24

Why are we not placing our hope in the Lord as Christian women?

What is pulling us to trust man more than an unchanging God?

Why are we so determined to follow the world’s perspective before pressing into God?

What hope is NOT:

Hope is not, “I hope my team wins the Super Bowl” or “I hope I get a raise.” Biblical hope is not a hope-so but it is a know-so.  It isn’t wishing for the best.  It isn’t waiting to see what happens and hope that it turns out well. Hope is not a feeling or an emotion.  Hope is the knowledge of facts.  If someone says to you that “I hope you have a good day,” there is no guarantee that the day will go well.  To have a biblical hope is to have a sure anchor of the soul, not hoping for rain because the forecast says that there is a 60% chance of rain and you hope that you get your garden watered.  That is not hope…that is wishful thinking and it is utterly undependable and has no power to bring anything to pass. Human hope pales in comparison to biblical hope.

What hope is from a Christian perspective:

A Christian’s definition of hope is far superior to that of the world.  Instead of wishing or hoping for something to happen, a believer knows that their hope is solid, concrete evidence because it is grounded in the Word of God and we know that God cannot lie (Hebrews 6:18; Numbers 23:19).  The Christian has a hope that is “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).  It is a hope that is like faith…a faith that cannot be moved by circumstances or what the eyes see because an unseen God is seen in His faithfulness.

What are you placing your hope in?

So what are you placing your hope in…God or what the world has to offer?

It does not matter who is in office God is still the King of kings and the Lord of lords!

Time to press into Jesus and stop moving and acting like we are His daughters.

Finding Rest During the Busyness!

“…But one thing is needed and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken from her.”
Luke 10:42

The holiday’s are here and along with them comes the hustle and bustle we add to our days.

Many times we forget to pause and take in what the Lord has for us all in the name of our task lists.

Life can be filled with busyness and uncertainty which can lead us into a place of stress and being nervous. And in some cases even lead us into illness.

As women we tend to want to know all the plans, the details and have a plan B for the just in case. Instead of allowing God to take the lead we are jumping out front and in many case tripping over our own feet!

“The Lord is my Shepherd. I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in
green pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters. He refreshed my soul.”
Psalm 23:1-3

God calls us to leave the details up to Him and rest in Him.

Do you feel guilty if you rest?

Are you a stubborn sheep not willing to rest in Him?

The Lord knows us and desires that we lay down in His green pastures and refresh our souls by the quiet waters, He wants us to know peace that only comes through Him and Him alone.

Rest is really not an option in our walk as a Woman of God, it is a Spiritual discipline we need to help us create a habit in our life. We need to understand that busyness is NOT productive! Busyness will actually break us down. There is no need to fill every waking moment with something to do, maybe it is time to evaluate your day and see if you are filling it with busyness or productivity.

What are your daily priorities?

Are you exhausted at the end of each day because you have been trying to do it on your own? You are just too busy to seek God to guide you through your day. Time for a change in mindset!

If you make God, your time with the Lord a priority you will find that the day is productive, you can manage the day and you are not exhausted at the end of each day.

It is time to press in on God and THRIVE daily!

What is the Lord showing you today that needs to shift?

God’s Perspective

Girl drinking tea in the evening on the balcony.

As we sit and watch things spinning around us, our lives, our businesses and our world we live in we can often wonder what is going on. We may ask why is this happening or even now what? You may find yourself freaking out or experiencing fear around things.

These are the times in our life where we need to stop, breathe and pray!

One of the biggest lessons I have learned in life is my perspective is far different in many cases than what the Lord sees.

The best example, we see life like a parade marching in front of us, while God sees it from the aerial perspective. God is above and He sees the beginning, middle and end of it all. He knows what has happened, what is happening and what is yet to come. Once we understand that and TRUST the Lord life takes on a who new perspective!

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9 NKJV

As women of God, we need to find ourselves on our knees seeking God’s  perspective not the world’s views. We need to be the example and the light in times of turmoil and unrest in our world around us. You see if we KNOW Jesus we KNOW HE alone has it under control, HE is watching this “parade” from the aerial perspective and HE knows what is going to happen as HE guides it into place.

How are you responding to what is happening around you and in this world? Are you the light in a dark, dark place? Are you the salt to flavor the situation?

This year we have experienced an election like no other in history, we have seen so much hate and meanness happening around us (and some participating it in as well.) It is time precious woman of God to seek GOD not participate in what is happening. It is TIME precious woman of God for you to stand in boldness for what the Bible has to say, for what GOD has to say. Much will be changing in this country as we know it, we need to be praying for the changes coming and for that wisdom to lead to be given to Mr. Trump and Mr. Pence.

Time for us as women of God to set the example and not participate in the non-sense that is happening in the media and on social media because it went the way it did. It is time for us to be seeking God for HIS truth and direction, this was God’s plan from the beginning or it would not have happened. God is still in control!

“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:4 NKJV

Will you humble yourself and pray?

Defining your value

Beautiful Girl reading her Bible by the sea

I have heard so many times women complaining about their value.

They say they are not enough, they don’t have enough, and in some cases actually speak the words I am of no value.

This breaks my heart, yes I have been there too. However, when we dig into what the bible has to say about us, we will find we are being deceived by the enemy and the world on a daily basis.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.”
Jeremiah 1:5

Before we existed God knew us, He knew who we would be, what we would do and more!

In life we define things of value based on who or where they are made. So why then do we not base our value on the same thing for ourselves?

If we are made by God, created by God…then would we not be of great value? I do not believe God makes mistakes, do you?

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.

You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.

How precious are your thoughts about me,O God.
They cannot be numbered!

I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
you are still with me!

Psalm 139:13-18 NLT

My dear friend, you are of great value because you are the daughter of the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, of our loving Father in heaven! It is time that we as women of God grab onto and own the truth that God has given us about who we are in Christ Jesus! We need to stop allowing the world, media and the crazy monkey chatter in our heads to tell us anything else.
