How important is your attitude?

This is a great question that ponders in some folks heads, just how important is my attitude in the real world?

According to a Stanford Research Institute report, 87.5% of our success in life comes from our attitude with only 12.5% coming from skill. WOW! 87.5% comes from our attitude, I would say it might be really important to us.

Chuck Swindoll said:

“I believe the single most significant decision I can make on a day-to-day basis is my choice of attitude. The attitude I choose keeps me going or cripples my progress. When my attitude is right, there’s no barrier too high, no valley too deep, no dream to extreme.”

Most of us would say we have a fairly good attitude, however what if we asked those around us what would they say?

  • Not too bad after her coffee
  • Sometimes that little thing gets blown out of proportion
  • She is overly sensitive
  • She whines about everything
  • She is always responding with negative comments
  • She is unforgiving to certain people

According to Matthew 15:18:

“…but the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart.”

The English word “heart” here is translated in Greek to kardia – the fountain seat of thoughts, passions, desires, purposes and endeavors.

God has filled me with a desire and the power to transform my “stinkin thinking” into a positive and powerful attitude/mindset. Some of the end results of this change in mindset are:

  • Less stress
  • More energy
  • Quick rebound from defeat
  • Healthy mentally & physically
  • Better at coping with life
  • More flexible in day-to-day living
  • Better relationships

You see once you are willing to take a genuine look inside and ask God to heal your mindset/attitude you will discover an amazing life, able to experience more of the blessings God has in store for you.

Are you ready to change your attitude?
