Quiet Time…

Some of you may be saying, what is that?

You don’t know my day, everything I have to accomplish. The kids pulling on one side, the business pulling on the other one and then there is my in-laws…and so it goes.

We have made our selves so busy being busy we have pushed out our quiet time with the Lord.

Have you ever wondered why you feel so stressed out, frustrated, exhausted, angry and ready to quit?

It is because what was not a priority in your life, you have made the priority. You see what we make number one in our life will take the place of anything else. As women we think we have to be able to do everything and that is a lie of the enemy!

God calls us to give Him our first fruits not the left-overs.

The first ripe fruits of all that is in their land, which they bring to the LORD, shall be yours. Everyone who is clean in your house may eat it.
Numbers 18:13 ESV

Our “First Fruits” is our time and/or money.

Our time with the Lord should not be an afterthought if we have spare time. It should be the FIRST thing in our day to set the tone for the rest of the day.

During our quiet time with the Lord, He speaks to our hearts & our minds.

What have you been missing because you have so much noise in your life today?

Cell phones

Social Media

All of these produce noise in our life and we MUST turn it off and listen to what the Lord is saying to you. What have you been missing  from Him?

Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  • Does your life feel noisy?
  • Do you find it impossible to find quiet time?
  • Does quiet time make you feel uncomfortable?

Take these to the Lord and ask him to help you find the time to site quietly at His feet.

Remember Martha and Mary?

But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary.Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:41-42 ESV

Mary chose what was best, to sit at the feet of Jesus. What will you choose today?
